Major Problem
Okay, I know that some people were waiting for Madam Hisae's Diary chapter 2 & up. Here's the thing. Chapter 2-5 of Hisae's Diary and Haha Mamire's Chapter 1-3 are already finished. I'm planning to release it all under one whole volume (including revisions of chapter 1-1.5). Unfortunately, MY HARD DISK GOT CORRUPTED LAST WEEK. All of my translations and raws are all gone. I wish that I should have just released those chapters individually and and make a separate release for the whole volume. I'm sorry but I have to put Madam Hisae's Diary on hold for now. I just don't feel like doing those things again. HOWEVER, I may continue it if I can get 4-6 of Hisae's Immoral Diary. I won't stop translating but I need to reorganize my stuff first. If you have any suggestions on what should I translate for the mean time, just tell me. I prefer stories like Hisae's Diary or Tatoeba Haha Ga. Or I might just do other Tsuyatsuya's works. I really do apologize for this. I hope you can understand and thanks a bunch!

I have worked on projects before where I have had to face the same situation. Simply put, it sucks, it really does. I get how you feel, it is extremely frustrating after having put so much time and effort into the work and then have it all gone in an instant.
ReplyDeleteMy suggestion is to take a breather and just figure out what to do slowly. First, check with a computer store, if data retrieval is possible at all or not. If it is, then go ahead and ask them to retrieve as much data as feasible. After that, reassess the damage and figure out what is available and what is missing.
When that is done, you'll be able to see what to do or not. After that, come back and make a post about it if you feel like. Then it'll be easier to see how to take it from there.
If you wish to focus your efforts on another work, then how about, "My Sister Is My Wife"? There is another list on manga-updates. [url]http://www.mangaupdates.com/authors.html?id=5455[/url] If any on that list fascinate you besides Hisae's Diary and Tatoeba Haha Ga, then please go ahead and choose one of those.
However, at this point, go with something smaller. A one-shot is the best type of break for this situation. Allows you to refresh yourself and get back into it. Ideally and honestly, I would very much appreciate if you'ld be willing to do the volume once again, however, I will respect your decision.
P.S.: What do you mean by 4-6? Are you asking for the chapter raws? I guess I could see that if you lost the original ones.
Thanks! I doubt any data can be recovered because I formatted the HD because I need to install a fresh windows on it. I just started downloading raws again. I think I'll just do a one-shot for now, thanks. I think I have a raw of My sister is my wife. I'll check it out.
ReplyDeleteWhat I mean is book 4-6 of Hisae's Immoral Diary. What I think is Madam Hisae's Diary is a compilation of Hisae's Immoral Diary books 1-3 (not really sure, check the link on my post) It's really confusing at first. I've searching high & low for those raws. It's really strange because I can find 1-3 & 7 but not 4-6.
I feel realy sorry for you loosing your hard work on these scans like a lot of guys i guess.
ReplyDeleteNethertheless, You could still recover your data after formatting your drive (not a sure thing but it's worth trying it). Unless you've done a write 0 using the monitoring/low level format utility provided on the drive manufacturer's site, some of the data stored on your drive may still be restored. I recommend you easyrecovery utility (you can easily find a trial version).

even if u formated comp and made a fresh install, if u use a recovery program u might get it back.
ReplyDeleteIt works like this, even if u delete a file with the delete button or format, the files still exist in the hdd it just shows that particular space as empty but still exist. It will only dissapear if u overwrite it with new data, for example u deleted 10 gb of data and dl something new to replace it then its gone forever. but if u only formated comp there is still a big chance the files still exist on the hdd.

ReplyDeleteUm, can I suggest Tonari no Tonari no Oneesan or Chikage from Tsuyatsuya? They have little to no drama, but they are quite funny (from the looks of it LOL).
Hope everything goes well with file recovery process.
Just so you know, Sei-Jin is already working on Tatoeba Haha Ga, he's already finished Volume 1, is working on Volume 2 (has recently finished chapter 5) and is planning on doing the entire series, and he does have the raws for all of them.

Yep, I'm a big fan of him. Tatoeba Haha Ga is the best (at least for me) among tsuyatsuya's works. Thanks for the heads up anyways

Still the same books. 1-3, then 7. maybe 4-6 wasn't uploaded to the internet? I sure hope not... Oh by the way, its under the title, "Kyuueda Haitoku Nikki".
Oh, you don't have to work on them. I was just making a suggestion ^_^ My Sister Is My Wife is one of my favourites too. I love tsuyatsuya's work (except for Takatsuki Jokyouju no Inbi na Hibi. I don't hate it though. But from the looks of it, it wasn't a happy ending).
